Welcome to BalloonSats without Borders

For every student who has dreamed of flying an experiment into the heavens, welcome. BalloonSats without Borders (BwB) is dedicated to creating opportunities for all students, young and old, in formal or informal educational settings, to fly their experiment into near space.

It is the hope of BwB that by sharing BalloonSats, people make more friends around the world. After all, the Internet, air travel, and globalization makes it more important that we view each other more as potential friends than competitors.

Idaho USA Launch for Willunga High School (South Australia)

The NearSys group launched mission NearSys-18A on 6 May 2018 carrying the Willunga High School (South Australia) BalloonSat. See the school's link at,  Willunga High School . The launch actually took place in Jordan Valley, OR, USA on account of the predicted winds aloft and mountainous nature of Idaho. The balloon reached 93,672 feet before bursting and the recovery was west of the Boise, ID airport. On this flight, amateur radio operators of the Voice of Idaho  provided help with the launch and recovery of the 1200 gram balloon. In addition to the Willunga High School payload, the balloon carried several experiments for NearSys and a BalloonSat for West Junior High in Nampa, ID. First BwB Flight in Idaho

South Australia launch for NearSys, Idaho, USA
